All applicants will complete a language literacy and numeracy assessment during the enrolment process and demonstrate their learning capacity to undertake course.
Reason for Learning
Applicants are typically undertaking this course to validate their skills and knowledge in their trade so that they can be recognised as a “Tradesman”, or for Licence requirement.
Upon completion of this qualification, further education and training opportunities and pathways are possible, providing the learner with a definite career path to follow.
Pre-existing Knowledge and Skills
This training and assessment strategy purpose is to provide flexible assessment opportunities for skilled workers to have the opportunity to be assessed and recognised in their work-based skill set.
This may include those who have studied internationally, lived abroad, or completed non-accredited courses and/or require support in their level of language, literacy & numeracy.
The RTO Access and Equity Policies and Procedures encourages the RTO to be open to all potential candidates who wish to seek recognition in a current competency from a skills industry.
Assessors ensure the quality of their decision-making process by using a variety of assessment methods that ensure assessment outcomes are valid, fair, flexible, reliable, sufficient, authentic, and current in line with the principles of assessment.
Where reasonable adjustment is required, the RTO will cross check assessment outcomes with third party evidence and other methods to ensure accuracy in assessment judgments.
The RTO has progressed from paper-based training and assessment to an online learning platform. The demand for online learning has enabled the RTO to reflect on these changes.
